Seeking Encouragement: Are There Happy Moms Out There?ChaiTRex

I've always dreamed of becoming a mother, and now that it's actually happening, I’m beyond excited. My husband is thrilled, too. But as my due date gets closer, I can’t shake the creeping anxiety that’s starting to settle in.

The thing is, I don’t have many mom friends. Among the people I’m closest to, only one has a child—a one-year-old. And while she loves her baby deeply, she often breaks down in tears, mourning the loss of the life she had before. My sister-in-law also struggles with how much her identity has shifted since becoming a mom, to the point that she doesn’t want another child.

To My Friends Who Aren't Mothers Yet - Motherly

Another woman I know seems to embrace motherhood a little more, but she’s still constantly overwhelmed. At work, parents who don’t know I’m expecting love to joke, “Enjoy your sleep and freedom now, because once you have kids, it’s all over.” And then there’s my older sister, who’s decided not to have children and often reminds me that some of her friends secretly regret becoming parents—but just don’t talk about it.

I understand that motherhood, like everything in life, comes with challenges. No experience is perfect, and I know sacrifices will have to be made. But I’ve always believed that with the right mindset and planning, you can still do the things you love—just with a little more effort.

So I guess I’m just looking for reassurance. Are there happy moms out there? Moms who love their new life and wouldn’t trade it for anything? If so, I’d love to hear your stories.
